Description
Do you remember last time I drew a horse? It's okay if you don't, it was such a long time ago

First off, this is such a sweet subject. Shetlands really are the cutest! I love that floppy fringe at the back there
I find the white a bit too glaring – though that may be my screen settings. I think the front pony might have benefitted slightly from a pale wash of cream/grey to tone down the brilliant white a little, and it would give you that space to pull out extra texture and shading. It’s also difficult to see what’s up with the white one’s head, but then that’s the same with the reference photo.
Sometimes, like this, I think it’s worth breaking away from the reference and changing things up just a little to make the image a little bit more believable and easier to read. Some things I think we can only accept because they are photographs! I’d like to see a hint of a nose swung round in a similar way to the other pony, just to show what’s happened to that hidden face.
Otherwise though, I really like this one. There’s a nice symmetry and flow to the two ponies, and I love what you’ve done with the meadow. The wild flowers give this a very summery feeling of warmth and that friendship you described in the title.
